In 2003, lice paid an unwelcome visit to my family. Panicked, I called one of our dearest friends, Katy, for advice. She immediately told me the over-the-counter products didn’t work — she’d just survived a three-week lice battle with her son.

Within 15 minutes, Katy was on our doorstep (a total GODsend!) armed with the right tools, research-backed knowledge, and the compassion only another parent can give.

That experience changed everything.

With a background in crisis management and social services — and feeling utterly grateful — I began paying it forward, helping other families in our school community navigate their own lice crises. For the next seven years, it became a mission, and by 2010, after much encouragement from family and friends, I officially launched Lice Lady.

We’ve grown since then, but our purpose remains unchanged:
